Biodiversity
Penn's woods benefit from a wide variety of flora and fauna. Protected land across the state ensures that habitats are not destroyed, but some argue it is not enough. Invasive species brought in from around the world offer a new challenge as they crowd out local, less competitive species. By tracking the distribution of native and non-native species, biodiversity across Pennsylvania can be preserved and harnessed.
