Pollution

 

Air, water, noise, and light pollution all combine across the state to reduce the quality of life. Quantifying the concentration and change of these factors allows for accurate relative decision making to take place. Especially in the five country area, with the Susquehanna as the main unifying factor, river pollution is huge. Pollution mitigation is another area of concern for residents of the valley. The tradeoff between economic growth and the environment makes for difficult decisions.
